This tour covers a region of exceptional desert, coastal, and mountain terrain. For that reason, riding times and distances to be covered each day are calculated to allow you the opportunity to appreciate the natural beauty of the areas visited.
Requirements:
Tour members should have a International health and accident insurance, contracted in their country of origin.
For this expedition, all members must bring a good quality clothing, designed for near-freezing (0º C, 32º F) temperatures in the mountains.
Luggage to be taken on the tour will be limited to a sports bag, smaller or equal to 90 x 40 x 40 cms. (35 x 16 x 16 inch) These bags will be transported in the support vehicle.
In Chile and Argentina the law demands the use of a helmet. We also require the use of boots and the appropriate motorcycle driving suit, wich you must bring by yourself.
The minimum age for tour members is 22 and the maximum age is 55.
In case that you are older than 55, and feel capable and in conditions to do the trip, AAT needs an Effort Test done by a Physician that becomes responsible.
All members must have a valid motorcycle driver's license and be in a good physical condition.
This excursion is for experienced motorcyclists who are capable of handling small portions of loose sand and mud. Participants should have a minimum of 2000 kms (1250 mi.) of experience off-road.
Due to the nature of this tour, the motorcycles used do not carry insurance against damage. Each member of the tour must have a valid Credit Card with an available credit limit that must be sufficient to cover any possible damage to the motorcycle.
The motorcycles available models are BMW F 650 and BMW R1100GS
